Sleepover Club was a non-hierarchichical initiative founded in Melbourne (Narrm) in early 2015 as a response to the lack of space in the arts for young people, women and LGBTQIA+ people. Through collective learning and shared experience, we hope to provide an uncensored platform for people to share art and writing in alignment with feminist theory and discussion. Sleepover Club Initiative exists simultaneously online, offline, in real life, and in our dreams. We choose to define ourselves by fluidity; an ever-changing grasp of our goals, ideas and priorities to fit our ever changing world.
We supported, facilitated and participated in open collaborations, exhibitions, projects, talks and digital discussions that focused on dialogue and questions pertinent to the inequalities present in the arts and beyond.
